Well known in Herat as an enthusiastic performer and a generous patron of other musicians, as well as for his broadcasts on Radio Afghanistan, Herawi is now considered "Master of the Afghan Lutes". His playing of the dutar and rabab (a short-necked, double-chambered plucked lute and Herawi's second instrument) is very typical of the Herat style although Herawi plays the folk melodies of several distinct cultures from many regions of Afghanistan. The pieces have the varied rhythms of the Hindustani raga forms, but are much shorter and intense, in the Afghan folk music tradition. Herawi often builds up to very fast tempos, and employs a wide range of dynamics

The indigenous Imazighen people are the native peoples throughout north Africa. Moh Alileche is a premier composer, musician (mondol) and singer living in diaspora. His music is both upbeat and deeply soulful.

Chingiz Sadykhov is a living legend among Azerbaijani pianists. This is solo instrumental music of Azerbaijan. This is the greatest Azerbaijani piano maestro Chingiz Sadykhov's second CD from 7/8 Music. It includes 19 songs of 20th century Azeri music compositions by some of the most talented composer who were all friends of Sadykhov in Baku.

Recorded for the first time in the world and the first US release of the traditional Laz music, performed by Birol Topaloğlu and various Laz musicians. Birol Topaloğlu, one of the foremost folk musicians in Turkey, sings and plays kemenche(kemençe), tulum(Gudastviri), guni and percussion. He is accompannied by the superb musicians and singers from Lazona, a region in north eastern Turkey, near the border with Georgia.
